American Eagle Flight Change Policy

American Eagle is a regional carrier operated by a number of regional airlines under the American Airlines brand. The flight change policies for American Eagle follow the same general rules as American Airlines since it is a part of their network. Here's an overview of their policies:

General Flight Change Policies:

Refundable Tickets:

Changes: Allowed without a fee; any fare differences will still apply.

Cancellations: You can cancel your ticket and get a full refund.

Non-Refundable Tickets:

Changes: Allowed with a change fee, plus any applicable fare differences.

Cancellations: Not refundable, but you may receive a travel credit for future use, minus applicable fees.

Basic Economy Tickets:

Changes: Not allowed, and they are non-changeable. If you need to change your flight, you would need to purchase a new ticket.

Cancellations: Not allowed. No refunds or travel credits are issued.

24-Hour Risk-Free Cancellation:

If you book a flight and then cancel within 24 hours of purchase (and at least 2 days before departure), you can receive a full refund, regardless of ticket type.

AAdvantage Elite Members:

American Eagle passengers with elite status in American Airlines AAdvantage program may have additional flexibility, including waived fees for changes and access to premium services.

Same-Day Flight Changes:

Same-day confirmed changes are available for a fee, subject to availability. You may also stand by for another flight at no additional charge.

American Eagle and U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations:

Delays & Cancellations: American Eagle, as part of American Airlines, must comply with U.S. DOT regulations for automatic refunds when flights are canceled or significantly delayed. This includes refunds for major schedule changes, delays over 3 hours on domestic flights or 6 hours on international flights, or downgrades in service class.

Important Notes:

Booking Changes: Most changes to American Eagle flights can be made online through the American Airlines website or mobile app. For more complex changes, or if your flight involves a multi-leg trip or connecting flights, you may need to call American Airlines.

Ticket Flexibility: Always review the fare rules when booking your ticket to understand the flexibility, especially when purchasing non-refundable or basic economy tickets.
